Welcome friends and family!
I’ve joined Gilda’s Gang 2013 to run the Country Music 1/2 Marathon on April 27 to raise funds for Gilda’s Club of Nashville!
In August 2004 my grandmother was diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer. On November 27, 2012 she began "end stage care" as her chemotherapy treatments were no longer effective against her cancer. Her battle with Ovarian Cancer ended on Saturday, April 6, 2013.
It is out of my desire to raise awareness about Ovarian Cancer and keep my grandmother's memory alive that I joined Gilda’s Gang to help fund Gilda’s Club of Nashville and the free services that they offer.
Gilda’s Gang began in 2006 as the inspiration of Dr. Gail Addlestone, a local pediatrician & Gilda’s Club member during her treatments for breast cancer. Her “idea”: to walk or run the Country Music Half-Marathon while raising funds for Gilda’s Club Nashville. In just six years, the 600+ members of The Gang have raised almost $1M to support the free programs at Gilda’s Club.
Gilda’s Club Nashville is an affiliate of the Cancer Support Community and opened its doors on August 3, 1998. Gilda’s Club provides free social and emotional support for men, women, and children living with cancer, and their families and friends. Gilda’s Club is a registered 501(c)(3) corporation, and all donations are 100% tax deductible.
Any support you are able to offer is greatly appreciated!
Lots of love, hope and TEAL,
Kelli
