Welcome to our CASA Kid Walk page!
We came up with the name Storm Benders for our team in part because of a little girl named Stormy who was taken care of by our team captain when she was an abused, and neglected infant whom nobody wanted.
We believe with love, sacrifice and determination, an abused childs life of hopelessness can be changed just as suddenly as when a rainbow bends its way through a Stormy Sky. Focusing on something that is beautiful can make a gray sky look better. Hope returns, and faith that the Storm will pass. Everytime the sky looks bleak, the kids that CASA volunteers are reaching can count on their advocate to be their rainbow.
Stormy received shelter and love until her storm passed and she was given a second chance. She is now a happy child in a better situation living with family members who love her.
We know not every story ends with a happy ending, but with CASA volunteers and the donations of people like you and I, we will make a difference. Please help us reach more children to give them a voice, and hope.
The Storm Bender team is intent on showing how much heart it has and even though we all work full time we set a goal of 1500.00 and meet regularly together to come up with new ideas for fundraising for this great cause.
Adam, a disabled Army Veteran spends about 20 hours a week walking around town talking to people and businesses about CASA. His hard work and time has helped raise local awareness of this organization and has been essential in helping us to meet our fundraising goals.
Jenifers daughter Kalina donated a full weeks allowance to help the kids out. She is just 6 years old.
Our youngest team member Matt, is going door to door selling See's Candy bars and one weekend brought in over $50. He is only 11.
It just shows me how little things do make a difference in the bigger picture.
You can help us help CASA kids by sponsoring us through this page.
