This is Bruin. He is a 2 year old black lab mix who arrived to us as a stray. He had a really hard time adjusting to life in a kennel and quickly began bouncing off the walls and knocking down water buckets.  After one trip to the NHSPCA training room it was clear that Bruin was not crazy, he was brilliant - and bored! He knew sit, down, stay, come, drop it, wait and had an obession for tennis balls.  As a matter of fact his teeth were worn down from his obsessive chewing on them. Bruin loved to play but he was constantly getting sick. After extensive medical testing we discovered that he was suffering from severe malnutrition. He was kept on a special bland diet of high quality food, and fed small amounts 3-4 times a day until he started to gain some weight. Bruin spent just about every morning and afternoon playing frisbee in our outdoor pen and was also taken to the beach by one of our volunteers. His three month stay with us ended in May when he was adopted. Bruin loves his new life and home! Please help us continue to help dogs just like Bruin find their forever homes.
