The Challenge:

Ronald McDonald House Charities "Chef of the House" Challenge                               

When: Thursday,  August 26th, 2010 at 6:00pm                                                          

What:  Team River's Edge., comprised of Chef Kelly Roberson (myself) and Gregory Roberson (my husband) is challenging Chef  Jerry Schroeter of Hilton Head's Indigo Pines and his wife.  Both his building and mine are Holiday Retirement Communities that provide Gracious Retirement Living to Active Seniors.  We both thought it would be fun to have our spouses act as our Sous Chefs for this event.  The challenge is to create a main dish, an appetizer or side dish and a dessert for the families staying at the Ronald McDonald House here in Savannah, Georgia and then have it judged by the familes and a panel of judges.  The winning team gets recognition and a gift certificate for Kitchenware Outfitters.  The twist to the competition is that a secret ingredient will be revealed the day of the challenge and it is up to us to incorporate it into the meal.  The secret ingredient could be anything from cheese to fruit to vegetables and anything in between.

I am asking you all to dig deep in your pockets and donate what you can to help this great charity!  Keep in mind that a $65 or more donation gets you a gift certificate to Kitchenware Outfitters but any amount is greatly appreciated.  Come on and support me and Greg!!
