Thank you for visiting our fundraising page!
This morning, 3/17, the Humane Society in Benton Harbor received two dogs.
Only one can be saved.
We need your help.
"Chance" was saved this morning by a very kind AEP man who found him dying along side of the road at the corner of Crystal and Britian.
He's been beaten, starved and left to die. His leg is infected beyone repair and MUST be amputated. This sweet 1 year old boy deserves a CHANCE and we are begging for your generous donations. Even a DOLLAR will do :)
Please consider donating...anything will help-we need to raise at least $700 TODAY, RIGHT NOW TODAY, to save him. PLEASE! If you are interested in sponsoring him, please call me, Jill at the Humane Society, Lynn or email us!

Actually...we might be able to save both of the dogs. Chance was found by a AEP worker laying on the side of the road, badly malnurished with opens sores filled with maggots. His leg and collar bone are broken. Was it beaten and neglected...most certainly. Because of the stage of infection, his leg must be amputated and very quickly. We are trying to raise a minimum of $700.00 today.
If we succeed in raising more and if the second dog dropped off at the Humane Society lives through the night, the extra money will go for life saving medical treatment. THis dog, yet unnamed, was beaten with a baseball bat, has numerous fractures and internal bleeding. Hecht Veterinary Clinic has both animals, and will do the treatments for a reduced cost.
So if you can afford even a dollar, please help these two helpless animals. I have attached pictures of "Chance".

ANOTHER UPDATE!! 3/17/10 at 7:02 PM

Thanks to all of you generous and compassionate people Chance is scheduled to have his leg amputated. This is necessary to do as soon as possible because the infection is spreading though out his body. He is a kind gentle animal, which is amazing considering the extent of abuse he has endured. He is resting well, and seems to be very happy in the care of loving people. It will be a long road for him.
Doctor Holly has also started emergency treatment on the other dog and he seems to be stable. Details are not available at this time, but we will keep you posted as to his condition.
The wonderful staff at the Humane Society were literally in tears of joy today, to see the response from all of you, and to know they would be able to give both the dogs the medical care they so badly needed. The total cost is unknown at this time, however, if we should reach our goal, please know each one of you were instrumental in saving two wonderful dogs lives today! How awesome is that!

The staff @ 2 by 2 love this dog (chance) and keep him in the reception area. When people come in, he hops up to the counter to greet them. He continues to stronger each day. They are feeding him 3 times a day to start gaining weight and not to upset his system.. Take each day at a time.
A report on Fiona will be forthcoming.
