Kelly's 2011 Plane Pull Challenge Fundraising Page
Yup, it's that time of year again. That time of year when I get together with 20 of my closest colleagues and one amazing special olympic athlete and we decide to PULL A PLANE. Yup, we're crazy! But we're crazy for a good cause.
The object of the Plane Pull is for teams of up to 22 people to pull a Boeing 757 a distance of 12 feet. No problem, right? Well, the thing weighs 164,000 pounds and that is an easy 7,454 pounds per puller. Wow! Of course, that's not the ONLY object of the Plane Pull. The other object of the Plane Pull is to raise money for Special Olympics of Indiana, and that's a pretty cool thing, too.
Our RW Armstrong corporate teams have an impressive history to live up to. Our Ladies team has achieved the Top Fundraising Team Award for at least three years in a row. Last year, one of our Men's Team also came out victorious as the Fastest Corporate Team with a time of 5.079 seconds, which was the fastest overall time of the day out of all 76 teams. And, I must say, my personal favorite is that for the 5th year in a row, our Teams captured the Best Team Spirit Award.
So, I can't let my team down. Please consider donating to my challenge today. If you can just give $5 or $10, please know that for every dollar that you spend, my company, RW Armstrong MATCHES it dollar for dollar. Amazing stuff!
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. I thank you, and so do the Special Olympics Athletes of Indiana!
