Dear Friends~
As many of you know, for the past four years, I have coached the M*A*S*H Team to run marathons and half marathons in support of Medical Ministries International. Now is my opportunity to see our hard work in action!! I have decided to take my support of MMI a step further and go on my first missions trip to Fiji this July!

MMI is a non-profit organization that receives unused medical supplies from local hospitals and clinics that would otherwise be thrown away in OUR landfills. A team of volunteers packs and ships these supplies to impoverished countries. A team of volunteers then travels overseas to these remote villages to provide medical and dental care that is so desperately needed. MMI has partnered with Global Passion Ministries to reach people in these villages and this is where I come in…

For two weeks, I will be serving in medical clinics which consist not only of primary medical care, but also dental care and optical services. Additionally, our team wants to be certain that patients hear the good news of Jesus Christ and are prayed with regarding their specific needs.
Although I do tend to have an adventurous spirit, I will tell you that this is WAY out of my comfort zone. Two weeks away from my home, my family, my friends and with no running water, no electricity and eating what is grown on the island.

I have come up with a million reasons why this may not work… But God keeps telling me yes, I can do this…I NEED to do this. And He will provide all that I need to make it happen. All I need is to trust and to follow…

I have always had a problem asking for donations… When my kids were little, I would just write out the check for their jog-a-thon rather than ask my friends.
