Dear Family and Friends,
As most of you know Mary has Huntington's Disease, (HD). She was diagnosed with HD about 20 years ago and the disease is slowly progressing. HD is a devastating, hereditary, degenerative brain disorder for which there is, at present, no effective treatment or cure. HD slowly diminishes the affected individual's ability to walk, think, talk and reason. Eventually, the person with HD becomes totally dependent upon others for his or her care. Currently there is no cure for HD. Each child of a person affected with HD has a 50/50 chance of inheriting this disease sometime in there life. So as you might expect this walk is very important to our family.
The seventh Annual Team Hope walk, a family fun walk that benefits those impacted by Huntington's Disease, will take place August 20th at Stapleton Central Park in Denver at 8:00am.
If you are in the area please join us!
This year’s goal is to raise $75,000 through sponsorships, walker registrations and voluntary donations to support the research for finding treatments and eventually a cure for Huntington’s Disease.
