Scot and I are excited to be participating in the Race for the Family event for a second year in a row and fundraising for the Cade Foundation- a locally based non-profit focused on helping families struggling with and overcoming infertilty.

As many of you know, Scot and I got pregnant though IVF with Shady Grove. While the IVF treatment wasn't covered under insurance, we luckily had the resources available to still seek treatment. However there are others out there that IVF, adoption or other options to overcome infertility are so far outside of their means that they can't consider starting a family. Something that is simply hard to fathom. That is where the Cade Foundation comes into the picture! They award Family Building Grants to help couples make their dreams of starting a family reality. In 2009 they were able to help 6 couples from across the US because of the donations they recieved.

Last year for this event we were able to raise $550 for the Cade Foundation and were one of the top fundraiser's. We are striving a little higher this year in hopes to still be one of the top fundraisers.
