Ten years ago, on October 26, my Mom succumbed to melanoma. She was a force in the lives of me, my brothers and my Father - - supporting, empowering and driving us to be the best that we could. She loved us all unconditionally - - husband, children, grand children and siblings - - and gave of herself until the end. Suffice it to say that watching such a great person be ravaged by cancer was the most painful thing I have even been through. This is why, with the help of my family and Caroline, I have decided to start a research fund in her name.
Rather than wedding gifts, Caroline and I are asking our family and friends to give generously to the Marilyn Taheny Research Fund. The money you donate will go to research targeting prevention, early detection and, most of all, a cure for this terrible disease. With you help no other family will have to go through the pain we’ve endured every since October 26, 1999.
