Kent Solheim & Will Cotty's Fundraising Page
Major Kent Solheim and Major Will Cotty are raising funds for the Special Operations Warrior Foundation.
Both men will be racing in 12 Hours of Santos - Team & Solo MTB competition http://www.goneriding.com/2010/12%20hours%20of%20Santos/12_hours_of_santos.htm in place of Pisgah 36.
*Pisgah 36 Adventure Race was postposed to an undetermined date due to safety and weather.
Major Solheim experienced first hand the significance of this organization when he was wounded in Iraq on July 27th, 2007. Major Solheim sustained serious injuries after being shot four times, subsequently losing his right leg March 2nd, 2009 . The Special Operations Warrior Foundation was there for Kent and his family, providing funds to assist in his family's travel to Walter Reed Army Medical Center.
The Special Operations Warrior Foundation continued to touch the Solheim family as two close military brothers were killed in Afghanistan in 2009. Both of these Green Berets left behind children that will benefit from the funds raised by this organization.
Major Cotty had a partial knee replacement after his tour in Iraq. This injury led to his friendship with Kent where he learned never to be limited by his injury. Will has served with numerous Soldiers who made the ultimate sacrifice and whose families have or will benefit from the Special Operations Warrior Foundation.
Thank you in advance for your generosity. May we never forget these and so many other Great Americans who have laid their lives on the altar of freedom, and for their families who understand first hand what those freedoms cost.
