Sweet 15 and Never Been Kissed! Meet Junior!

BARNI and Daphneyland are pleased to introduce to the the latest member of the pack in desperate need for a senior center. Meet "JUNIOR"...
I almost fell out of my chair last week when I was browsing the pages of Pet Harbor and low and behold...a 15 year old Basset Hound popped up in the adoptable pages. I immediately emailed a contact at Ventura Animal Regulation and asked what the heck was going on!!!?? I was advised that he was an owner surrender and that the owner had simply left him there and gave no other information other than stating "He's just too old!"
Can you even imagine being a super senior citizen and just being dropped off in a strange place with strange people because you were old??!!!
Carol picked up Junior on Monday morning and brought him up to the ranch. Here is Dawn's initial evaluation:
"Flea dermitis, having lived as an outdoor hound all his life, this sweet boy just wants a warm bed and cuddles, such a sweetie.
He has a hanging growth by is ear that will need to be removed, nutritional support as his hair is very thin from the flea infestation and most likely poor quality food all his life. Ear infections and dentals also needed and very full anal glands."
Any volunteers to take care of those anal glands? First come first serve - no pushing please. :) Ok, in all seriousness, with hounds at record numbers at the ranch, funds are incredibly low. I thank all of you from the bottom of my basset-loving heart for your kind thoughts and donations for the special needs dogs that we have brought into the ranch over the last few months. I feel just terrible asking, but we need your help again!
It costs almost 75.00 per day to feed all of those howling mouths so funds are short to care for these exceptionally needy senior citizens. There are almost 500 people on the basset lovers list. If everyone gave just two dollars, we would hit our goal in no time!!! It's a team effort guys! Let's do it!
