As you all you know every year we particiapte in the Hearts & Hands Walk for Autism and Family  Fun Day. Well its that time of year again and we are sharing our story to help raise funds for Community Autism Resources which provides services for children who are on the Autism Spectrum. Keegan who is now 5 years old was diagnosed with PDD.NOS( which falls under the Autism Spectrum ) at 26 months. Since then Keegan has received Early Intervention until the age of 3, ABA services through Children Making Strides until just last month and multiple services through the Berkley Community School. Keegan has made great gains and is now considered mainstreamed in his classroom. Throughout all of this we have participated with Community Autism Resources(CAR) for multiple events. We have gone to the zoo, gone on a hayride,went on  day trips to a farm, and attended music and movements sessions. I have attended many of the free clinics and educational classes that they offer. Again all of this provided free though CAR. We have met some great friends and support people who have become a part of our lives. This is the 3rd year our family has participated in the walk, each year seems to hit home even more than the year before. Its a great feeling to walk for something that effects you everyday of your life and know that you are making a difference in the life of a child.
