In the early 1980's, Brother Joe started this cause by sitting in a dumpster in downtown West Palm Beach for a month. His vision of helping those without was very successful. The donations he received while sitting in the dumpster allowed him to start this organization. At about the same time in Washington D.C. the homeless advocate Mitch Snyder began a 50 day fast to bring awareness to the homeless population who were suffering in our Capitol. Locally my friend the late Jack Kelly, would bring coffee, sandwiches, aspirin and kind words to the men and women livng on the streets in Palm Beach County. So many people at so many levels have given of themselves to help those without. While there are many worthwhile causes to support, I personally am grateful to help the people in my community.
