Here we go again!

Every year my daughter Aidan, tells me that this should be my last run at Falmouth. However, running through the hills and along the shore with 11,000 others seems to get into your blood. Also, running with Team Genesis is indeed an honor.

This team of joggers (me) and top flight pacers all have one goal in common; to raise money and awareness for those individuals in recovery from mental illness. Last year, the money raised at Falmouth sponsored 15 individuals in recovery to participate in the Genesis Wellness and Employment programs for one year.  These programs are reducing the 85% unemployment rate and the 25 year earlier mortality rate for those with mental illness.

My goal each year is to raise a few more dollars and to run a bit faster over the 10.5 K course. Maybe this year I run my age.!!!

I also run in memory of Genesis members Katie,  Michael, Star, Ed, Kevin and Jim.

When Aidan and I pass the 5.5 mile mark we know we will make the finish because we have a  one more big fan (Eli) looking down on us.
