Dear Friends and Family,

For many years I wanted to volunteer for an organization that supports kids who have experienced the loss of a parent.  I wanted to be able to give to them the kind of support that my family and friends showed me when my father died when I was 8 years old.  It wasn't until I moved to Oakland, CA that I finally found the organization which provides this kind of service.   It's an amazing place with an incredible group of volunteers and kids and families who win me over every night that I volunteer (an average of two nights per month).

This year I will be taking part in Circle of Care's first annual Walk to Remember. Circle of Care is a support program for children and families who are coping with life threatening illness, death and bereavement. They provide vital services to children who are navigating through their grief offering support groups, individual and family counseling, community workshops, crisis support, and information and referral.

Please help support my memorial walk around Lake Merritt on May 15th, 2010 by making a donation to my fundraising page. All proceeds will go to support Circle of Care programming and the children and families they serve.
