Delaware Law Enforcement Memorial
Thank-you! Thank you for visiting the fund raising page for the "Delaware Law Enforcement Memorial." Donating through this website is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to support our fundraising efforts.
We Did it!!!!!!!! Becuause of many generous people, the Memorial was dedicated on May 3, 2001. We have exceeded all expectations. Any future donations will be used for the perpetual care of the Memorial.
On behalf of those who sacrificed all and their surviving family members----- many, many thanks.
This fund raising effort is a joint venture involving the Delaware Police Chiefs' Council, the Delaware Police Chiefs' Foundation, the Fraternal Order of Police and the Delaware State Troopers Association.
Delaware is one of the few states that does not have a Law Enforcement Memorial. Such a Memorial pays tribute to all police officers in the state who have made the ultimate sacrifice. Thirty-four times in the history of Delaware, members of the law enforcement community have given all while protecting our liberties. It is time to honor them with a "Delaware Law Enforcement Memorial." A Memorial site has been approved on the Legislative Mall at the State Capitol. All monies raised will be from private or corporate donations.
When this Memorial drive began, 33 Delaware law enforcement officers had given all while in police service. Now there are 34. On September 1, 2009, Patrolman Chad Spicer was gunned down on the streets of Georgetown. His name and picture do not appear in the Memorial video. It is evident that the final scene of a Memorial tribute is never written.
Without a doubt these are trying economic times. Please keep in mind that any financial sacrifice we make to pay tribute to our fallen heroes will never equal their sacrifice.
Many thanks for your support,
The Delaware Law Enforcement Memorial Committee
