Arrrrrrrroooooooooo!

Hi there folks, it's me, Fleetwood.  It's that time of year again.  Guardian Angel Basset Rescue's Illinois Waddle is on September 17th and it's time to do what we bassets do best....beg!  This time it's for funds to help my fellow bassets get the medical care they need and find their forever homes.  Dobie and I are getting limbered up and doing our stretches (on the couch, of course), doing mock "waddles" to the food bowl and getting ready to make you proud.  It was tough going last year but as you can see I made it.

Here's an example of why we waddle for all the bassets that need our help.

On Mother's Day this year Rosalyn and her 5 puppies (5 weeks old), were dropped off in an overnight drop box at a shelter.  GABR was called immediately and we picked them up to give them the love and care they needed.  10 days later we discovered that the 5 puppies had parvo.  Their future was very dim but with the vet care that GABR was able provide and the love and 24 hour care of one of our best foster homes, McTavish, Isabelle, Beatrice and Ana Lou are all healthy and happy living in their new forever homes.  Sadly, we lost Sarah.  She could not fight off the virus that attacked her body.  She is sadly missed. 

There is so much more involved in animal rescue than just picking up unwanted animals.  It involves long hours of care and financial commitment.  GABR would not have been able to help any of these puppies without your help so please consider a donation to Guardian Angel Basset Rescue. You can donate a specific amount per block (10 blocks) or one set amount for the entire Waddle.  No amount is too small or too big so please give what you can.
