Team Hope Walk Portland
I will never forget the day it was July 24th, 2006 10:20 a.m. as we sat across the room from three doctors when they said that Roger had tested positive for Huntington’s disease. Instantly my heart felt like it had been ripped from my chest. Roger was much stronger then me and said it would all be okay. But my thoughts ran immediately to the fact that Roger's father had taken his own life at age 47 after suffering from the disease for many years. I thought about how we wouldn’t get a chance to grow old together and how Roger may never see his grandchildren. I vowed from that day on that I would cherish every day as if it was our last but never give up my fight to help find a cure.
This is my third year helping out with this walk. It's so difficult to get sponsors because there are so many other fundraisers going on at the same time. I'm asking you to please help me get the word out so we can support all families that are affected by this horrible disease we refer to as the devils disease. With your donation no matter how small we can help continue to raise funds to help cure this awful disease.
From the bottom of my heart thank you, Kim
