Dear Friends and Family, 

It's been 10 months since I was diagnosed with Lyme Disease and almost a full year since being diagnosed with Psoriatic Arthritis, which we now think is--or is caused by--Lyme. It's been a looooooooooooong, hard year for me and my family.

If you've seen the documentary Under Our Skin or read Cure Unknown: Inside the Lyme Epidemic, then you know how disabling this disease is, how hard it is to treat, and how it can wreck havoc on people’s finances, livelihoods, marriages, and ability to care for children.

That being said, I am one of the fortunate ones. I can afford the treatments and doctors not covered by insurance. Many people can’t. They suffer at the hands of insurance companies and/or uneducated doctors. Here’s a startling statistic: Lyme disease is growing at four times the rate of AIDS. It is becoming the most misdiagnosed and fastest-growing infectious disease in the nation.

The good news is the Turn the Corner foundation is helping to fund research, education, awareness, and innovative treatments for Lyme and other tick-borne disease.
