Gabby Abby's Gang
It's time for Abby's 2nd Buddy Walk. She had a great time last year in the heat and humidity. The big excitement was when T.C. Bear the Twins mascot tried to eat her for lunch! :-) There is a cute picture of it, but I have no clue on how to link it into this message!
Abby's up for the challenge this year, though. Even though she's not walking herself, she will be very excited to be there in her stroller with all the people that will be there supporting her and all the other families affected by Down Syndrome.
The Down Syndrome Association of Minnesota is the only organization in our region devoted exclusively to the needs of people with Down syndrome and their families. The Buddy Walk was developed by the National Down Syndrome Society in 1995 to promote awareness and advocacy for people with Down syndrome and has grown from 17 walks in 1996 to 250 in 2005. Last year, over 250,000 people took part in walks thoughout the country.
