Kimberly Betts's Fundraising Page
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page!
On August 23, 2010, at just 5 years and 3 days, our sweet Dani girl lost her battle with a brain tumor. While no amount of fundraising can bring our daughter back, our hope is that it can help other children and their families so that someday we can say we have found a cure. Tthe funds raised through this page and the Run of Hope benefit the Pediatric Brain Tumor Research Fund at Seattle Children’s Hospital and work to find a cure for this horrible disease. Supporting the PBTRF funds the work of Dr. Jim Olson, one of Dani's oncologists and a premier researcher in the field.
Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!
If you plan on joining us on race day, please make sure to sign up for “Team Dani” and also get me your t-shirt size as we will be getting team shirts for the event. I will also update this page with more team info as the race gets closer.
I have set a personal goal for myself that if everyone out there helps me to meet my fundraising goal, that I will run in this event (as opposed to walking it) For those of you who know me and my aversion to running, this is a huge deal. I hope you will support me in this challenge!
I have set a fundraising goal for myself of $4810. Why such an odd number? It is ten dollars for every day that cancer has been a part of our lives come race day. It doesn’t seem like much, but it can add up pretty quickly. Would you give just $10 for a day without cancer?
