I am participating in the Seattle Marathon (along with my mom and my husband as support crew) on Sunday, November 29, 2009. We're doing the half-marathon race for fun, fitness and also to raise funds for the Melanoma Research Foundation. Melanoma is the most dangerous form of skin cancer, and, although it does not seem like it should, it does kill. The Melanoma Research Foundation is trying to help make the number of people it does kill go down through education, prevention and better treatment.

My dad died of this cancer and, with your help, fewer and fewer people will have to bury someone because of this disease.

So please think of sponsoring me in my 13.1 miles in November and donating to a great cause!

As an update to my training, my mom and I are getting ready to do our longest training this week--10 miles! Once we get past this hurdle, we'll taper down a little to get ready for the race day.
