Greetings friends and family!!
It's our Buddy Walk time of year again! We are excited to share with you Claire's progress this year, and hope to see many of you this October.
Claire breezed through her transition to first grade with much fanfare and grace.
She enjoyed her new friends and embraced her new group of teachers with enthusiasm (while sneaking some peeks into Miss Jennifer's room from time to time:)
She eagerly learned her numbers in German and Spanish, while surprising us all by learning how to knit. We have lost count how many scarves, pillows, and balls Claire has made so far! She loves to change colors and give her gifts to all. ;) She has also discovered weaving and is quite the focused weaver, sometimes weaving for and hour or two at a time!
Her favorite times are recess, music, movement class and often main lesson. She learned how to play her wooden flute and looks forward to learning new songs.
Claire played Challenger Baseball for the first time this year. She joined the Dodgers' team, and became one of their most independent players. She loved running the bases, and always enjoyed rooting for her teammates too.
We are all so proud of Claire's hard work this past year, and continue to be amazed at her beauty, courage, and strength.
Claire is very excited to (finally) be 8 years old and an official 2nd grader this year. She was eager for school to resume and is very excited to be a part of this year's new adventure.
Please help us support Claire and our Down Syndrome community in Tucson this year by joining us for the Buddy Walk and/or donating to SANDS if you can.
xo - love and blessings!
