My personal story with GKTW:
In March of this year I had the wonderful opportunity of going on an alternative spring break trip with an organization I'm a part of at school called Alpha Phi Omega. This trip would take us to Florida to volunteer at a place many of us had never heard of previously, called Give Kids the World Village. We weren't sure what to expect coming in for our first volunteer shift, but we quickly learned that volunteering at this magical village would change our lives forever. We volunteered only 5 days, but I can safely say that I know all of us fell in love with everything; from Mayor Clayton's nightly tuck-ins, to each and every child with whom we came into contact. This world was the happiest I have ever encountered, a place where laughter is truly the only medicine and smiles take the place where there was once only pain. I have been truly blessed through my experience and I hope to help GKTW in the best way I know how, in order to contribute to their ability to continue to serve children with life-threatening illnesses and their families for many, many years to come.
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page for Give Kids The World. GKTW is a magical resort where kids who face life-threatening illnesses can be kids. Since its founding in 1986, Give Kids The World has welcomed over 97,000 families from all 50 states and over 68 countries. Last year alone GKTW hosted more than 6,500 families.
Give Kids The World has made a promise to never turn a child away. For 70 percent of the year however, the Village runs above 100 percent occupancy, meaning some families must lodge off property during their Wish Trip. For this reason, Give Kids The World Village is in the midst of the largest expansion project in its history. Every person you tell about this mission, will help bring GKTW one step closer to achieving this goal.
Donating through this site is simple, fast, and totally secure. Your contribution to my personal fundraiser for Give Kids The World will make a difference in the lives of these special children. Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to share this opportunity with anyone who you think might want to donate to the Village as well!
Thank you so much!
