The USAID Matching Fund Opportunity for Schools:
The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) awards matching grants to Save the Children, providing us funds to help boys and girls with the essentials they need to survive and thrive under incredibly difficult conditions. Under the terms of these grants, USAID will typically provide 75 percent, while we provide 25 percent of the USAID-funded project costs. Our 25 percent comes from caring friends like you and it means that for each $1 of the match requirement, we will have up to $4 to spend on children in need.
Examples of how these funds might be used include:
- Helping us provide young survivors of natural disaster in El Salvador with clean water, blankets, clothing and other essentials;
- Helping Save the Children support community-based early childhood development centers in Malawi; or
- Helping us provide newborn care and immunizations against deadly childhood diseases in Pakistan.
