Dear Family and Friends,
Logan is making miraculous progress because of your tremendous support. Your listening ears, helping hands, thoughtful prayers, encouraging smiles, and yes, financial support, have made all of the difference in the world. Logan no longer throws tantrums or bangs his head on the floor. He has learned to feed and dress himself (with some help). He is even potty trained! He has become much more social and observant of others. His little sister, Grace keeps him on his toes... His greatest accomplishment is that he has learned to talk. In two months he went from saying 15 words to speaking in short phrases and sentences. We are all amazed and overjoyed at his progress.
This progress is possible because of Walk for Autism-Virginia. The Walk provides educational scholarships for children with autism in the Northern Virginia area. These scholarships are used to fund the most promising behavioral programs, Applied Behavioral Analysis and Relationship Development Intervention. These therapies can make significant positive changes in these children's lives....some children can even become indistinguishable from their peers. Last year Logan was a scholarship recipient.
Unfortunately, these therapies cost tens of thousands of dollars per year and are not covered by health insurance. This leaves many families in financial turmoil, or worse yet, leaves children without proper treatment. The longer these children go without treatment, the further away from their peers and the "normal world" they fall.
This is where you and I come in..... These children, including Logan, need your help. The money you contribute to our cause goes directly to helping children. Imagine the impact you can have on a child's life and future. Imagine, if you can, that it was your child....Logan is my child and we cannot express in words the joy we feel about his progress, the hope we feel for his future, and the love we feel for our supportive friends and family. God Bless you all!!! xoxoxo
We would love to have you join our team, Finding Logan to walk on Saturday, October 7th at Prince William County Stadium. Let me know if you'd like to walk with us. You can register and get more information online at www.walkforautismva.org.
