My family lost my dad to pancreatic cancer August 2002. Our lives will be forever changed. We miss him so very much. His grandsons never got to meet their grandpa and he has missed so much in the lives of his children and wife. We hold this event in the hopes that soon there will be more research and better techniques to fight this terrible cancer. The Pancreatic Cancer Action Network is the only comprehensive organization dealing directly with pancreatic cancer. For more information about what they do, please visit their website: www.pancan.org. Pancreatic cancer research is where breast cancer research was 30 years ago! Think about the improvements breast cancer has made in 30 years! Pancreatic cancer patients deserve the same kind of progress!
I miss my dad just as much today as the days after he passed away. We all miss him. With so many dead-beat and/or non-existent "dads" out there, I still wonder why He took mine. He was a wonderful father... he was there for us, we never doubted we could count on him. He has missed so much... and we have missed him here. My dad was not a smoker or drinker... it wasn't fair that he got such a horrible cancer. He was in so much pain... I heard him cry out in pain for the first time in my life. That is something I will never forget. I will also never forget how gracefully he went through the pain. He worried about us and how we were doing when he was laying there suffering. He took the time to write each of his kids personal note telling him he loved them and goodbye. It just wasn't fair. My hope is through money raised, no one else has to see their family member or friend go through the pain that I had to see my dad go through. I don't want to see any other family suffer as mine has.
