Hello friends, family, and colleagues!
Thank you for visiting my page. Some of you already know this, but I have been working with Citizen Schools for several years now. This past August, I took the lead in a new way when I launched a new academic year as Campus Director. I supervise 6 hard-working and passionate educators. Together, we work to provide the access, skills, and beliefs young people need to chart paths to freedom and success in their lives.
We serve 95 students in San Jose, California. As a staff team, we are always seeking to develop as teachers and leaders so that we can better support our students. As an organization, Citizen Schools is always seeking to grow in ways that makes this critical work sustainable and available to more young people. After all, these are our future leaders!
Many of you have heard me talk about my students. Their antics, their obstacles, their silliness, their growth. And if you haven't, that topic is one I'm always up for talking about, so just ask. :) In a nutshell, I have seen the influence our program has on young people. Through cultivating authentic relationships with them and engaging families, school staff, community members, volunteers, and Citizen Schools alumni who have come through the program, we truly are buliding community.
If you want to know more about the work we do, please visit our website. There's a lot of info there. Or, just ask me.
You can also check out a couple of blog articles I wrote last year when I was a Teaching Fellow- linked at the bottom of this page.
In sum-- I know we are making a positive impact on the lives of the young people in our program, whom I care deeply about. Please support our high-quality program by contributing what you're able to. Even $5 or $10 goes a long way and makes you an ally to this important work.
