In May 2009, I will be riding in the Police Unity Tour.  This 300 mile bicycle ride begins in New Jersey and ends in Washington D.C. to support the National Law Enforcement Memorial Week. Approximately 1000 Law Enforcement Officers from across the Nation will be participating in the event. 

Our goal is to raise money for the Law Enforcement Memorial and to honor the memories of those brave Police Officers throughout the Nation who have been taken in the line of duty. I chose to ride this year to honor not only those officers on the National level, but on the local level.  Contra Costa County suffered great loss when Sgt. Paul Starzyk, Martinez PD and K9 Ofc. Brad Moody, Richmond PD, made the ultimate sacrifice in 2008.  I am also riding in honor of Ofc.Leonard Garcia, Richmond PD who was killed in the line of duty in 1992.
