This team was formed in honor and support of our dear friend Carole Ann Barnard. She has been living with lupus and understands the daily restraints that it puts on her and her family. Before she was diagnosed with Lupus, she battled cancer. As we all know, when faced with an obstacle that seems impassable, we look for anything we can to give us hope. That brings us to the Yellow Gumball.

It was a particulary low day for her; she wasn't sure if she was going to live through chemotherapy. She saw a gumball machine and made a silent deal.  If a quarter was slipped into a gumball machine, the handle was turned, and a yellow gumball came out then that would mean she would beat cancer and live. A yellow gumball popped out and she has been going strong ever since.
 
We are honored to support Carole and her fight. Her spirit and karisma is an inspiration to everyone that knows and loves her. Together, we can make a difference to help her and the millions of other people that live with this disease.

It has been 50 years since a new drug has been approved for lupus. So our goal for the Walk for Lupus is to raise $5000 and gather a team of 50 people.
