Kundiman Alumni Scholarship Fund
The "graduating" fellows 2009 Kundiman retreat (Soham, Tamiko, Phayvanh, and Gein) have started a scholarship fund that will enable (at least) one person, chosen by the staff, to attend Kundiman each year. We have committed to collectively raise at least $500 per year to pay for room/board and defray some transportation costs.
We suspect that all of you have been changed (in good ways!) by your Kundiman experience, and we are pretty sure most of you would want to help another emerging Asian American poet experience the wonder that is Kundiman. And so, we ask you to join us in raising funds for the first annual Kundiman Alumni Scholarship Fund. You can contribute money directly, organize a fundraising event, ask your rich relatives to chip in, hold a bake sale, etc.
Once you raise your funds, you can either make an online donation here: http://www.firstgiving.com/kundimanalumni, or mail your check, made out to Kundiman, to Phayvanh's P.O. Box in Vermont: (see email for the address or email us at kundialum@gmail.com).
Thank you for your generosity and enthusiasm!
PS: Anything over the annual $500 mark will be rolled over for the next year or be used to start an endowment.
