If you are like SOME Team Larry members, you are probably thinking... “why should I bother?” or “what's in it for me besides getting up early on a Sunday morning when I could be sleeping?”
Good questions! We're glad you asked.
Team Larry is important because it supports a great cause. Actually, the cause AND the need is great... Joining Team Larry means you support the major fundraiser and community outreach for Hopewell Cancer Support which has and continues to provide excellent, qualified, and important support and education services for adults, children, and families touched by cancer in the Baltimore Metro area at no cost to participants. This nonprofit has been providing these services since the early 1990s.
The organization is so terrific as are the services it provides. I have been a supporter and active volunteer since the organization began in 1993. I’ve appreciated HopeWell from different perspectives... as a volunteer, as a member of the Board of Trustees and as a two-time cancer survivor.
This event is important to me. I helped create the first REACHOUT & RUN 14 years ago. Since then the race has raised over 1.4 million dollars in funding for HopeWell. I so enjoy seeing this number grow every year. I think about all the programs and services we are supporting.
This will be my 15th year! Come out and join me. See how uplifting it feels to support such a vital and unique organization. I'll be smiling the whole way and I bet you will, too.
