Larry Westbrook's Dream Catchers Team
Thank you for visiting my Polar Plunge fundraising page. They say anyone with a little guts and a warm heart can take the Plunge and I am one of those folks. This is my 8th time of plunging in! Yes, that's right, the 8th time!! I’m collecting donations from family, friends, co-workers and anyone else who wants to support the nearly 21,000 athletes with intellectual disabilities and more than 6,000 Young Athletes ages 2-7 of Special Olympics Illinois! Your donations will help provide athletes with intellectual disabilities the chance to participate in year-round sports training and competition.
To reward your generosity, I’m going jump once again and join more than 5,700 people statewide who will voluntarily take the plunge into the freezing cold water Lake Decatur in the middle of winter as our Dream Catchers team takes part in the Law Enforcement Torch Run Polar Pl unges for Special Olympics Illinois. I ess you could say that I’m “Freezin’ for a Reason”!
And...I'm Freezin' for a very Important Reason!! I help coach our Dream Catchers team in the sports they love. The other reason I "jump in" is our son, Brent. He is one of over 70 athletes who participate in our Dream Catchers team. Brent's sports include bowling, track & field, basketball, golf and he's adding a new one - bocce! Special Olympics keeps Brent, LuAnne and myself extremely busy all year long. We are part of this very special family of athletes, parents and coaches who encourage all the athletes to do their best in everything they try. We're proud of all the athletes but especially Brent. So...as you can tell...I really am "Freezin' for a Reason" and proud to do so!! And Brent really can say to me "Dad, go jump in the lake"! So, if you enjoy seeing me jump, please sponser me and remember you're helping to make alot of our athletes dreams come true...you make a difference.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to make a contribution to the LETR Polar Plunge for Special Olympics Illinois.
Brent, LuAnne and I thank you for your support – and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!
