LET'S GO SUZI'S SUPPORTERS!!
Last year's walk was a great success! Let's continue our support for Suzi DiCrasto Hornbeek. We love you so much and you are always in our prayers!
Our family member and best friend, Suzi Hornbeek, was diagnosed with Scleroderma. She has a young family and is fighting to overcome this disease. Through prayer and support she is staying strong! We are trying to raise money for research and a possible cure for Scleroderma. Our family will be walking on June 6 in support of Suzi and others with this disease. All are welcome to join our team!
Scleroderma is a chronic, often progressive autoimmune disease - like rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, and multiple sclerosis - in which the body's immune system attacks its own tissues. The disease, which literally means "hard skin" can cause thickening and tightening of skin, as well as serious damage to internal organs including the lungs, heart, kidneys, esophagus and gastrointestinal tract. The symptoms of Scleroderma vary greatly from individual to individual and the effects of the disease range from mild to severe. For some, scleroderma can be life-threatening due to the severity of organ involvement. To date, there is no known cause or cure.
