Lucy had heart surgery at Children's Hospital of Wisconsin when she was two years old. She had a congenital heart defect called a coarctaton of the aorta.  This means she was born with a severe narrowing of her aorta, which was preventing the lower part of her body from getting the blood she needed.

We could not have been happier with her cardiologist and surgeon. Lucy is now five years old and in kindergarten.  She only needs to visit her cardiologist for routine annual checkups. 

Our entire family is so grateful for the outstanding care Lucy received at Children's Hospital of Wisconsin, which is why we're taking part in Al's Run for a third year.  We greatly appreciate your support!
