For those who aren't aware, my aunt passed away last May. She was diagnosed with ovarian cancer 6 years ago. It slowly spread to every organ and cell in her body taking her bodily functions, brain, appetite, but not her sense of humor. Anyone who knows someone who died from cancer knows it is a slow and painful death. I was her primary caretaker and POA. Through this very painful, sad, and tiring experience before and after death, I got a chance to be involved w/ some amazing people. I am speaking about Old Colony Hospice. I am not a BIG advocate for people charities (not to say I won't help), however this was truly a life altering experience. I believe it was because of hospice that my aunt found the will to let go, and move to a better place. It was because of hospice, she was made comfortable and had peace of mind.

As a result of my experience, I decided to get involved in their annual walk to help raise money for Hospice, reconnect w/ those who dedicate their lives to this organization, and introduce others who fortunately for them haven't needed to be around hospice.
