Note: Laura here. I attached the links at the bottom of the page to several short articles that I wrote about my experiences during the 2 years I spent in Honduras. The photos and videos linked on the left are all from my time there as well. I know these boys. I love these boys. And I hope you will help. :) Now I will give you a summary about this wonderful place...
Proniño is a foundation in Central America for children found living on the streets of Honduras. These boys, as young as 8, are abandoned by their families, by their very own mothers. They are left to sleep on cardboard on the sidewalk at night. By day, they walk the streets looking for food and begging for money. They are abused on the street and often turn to violence, crime and drugs. There are orphanages in Honduras, but most will not accept these 'street children', kids with drug addictions and often criminal behavior as a result of years of street life. Proniño offers him a home, an education, and hope for a brighter future. They offer him a family-like environment and let him know that he is loved and valued.
Why help them?
These boys were not so blessed as our children in the US have been. We have been born into homes with hope and choices, given the chance at a bright future. These boys truly need our help. Proniño is struggling financially to care for over 80 children living at the center. Boys may have to be turned away if help is not found. Any donation would be appreciated and very helpful.

Who am I anyway?
I’m Laura Long. If you are here, chances are that you already know me. I worked as a volunteer with these wonderful children for 2 years. I grew up in Central PA and was never abandoned as a child, was never left to feel completely unloved, went days without eating, slept alone in the cold at night or left with no hope for my future. My life has been a blessing. And these children deserve that same blessing. What has happened to them is horrible, and my goal is to help ensure that it never happen to them again. Please help.
