Here it goes again... I can already feel the cold!

 

 

On Saturday February 11 I am going swimming in Long Island Sound! Yes you read that right, I will be taking part in "Freezin' for a Reason" to raise money for Wakeman Boys & Girls Club!

 

 

I won't be alone though. There will be a couple hundred other people of all ages heading into the chilly water with me at 1pm on the 11th at Fairfield's Jennings Beach. The water is typically 37 degrees!

 

 

Wakeman is a terrific organization that I'm proud to support. They have three different Clubhouses, two in Fairfield and one that just opened up in Bridgeport (Smilow-Burroughs is where I work!). They also offer mentoring and tutoring programs at McKinley Elementary School in Fairfield (My old elementary school!). All together Wakeman will help more than 4,000 kids this year and that is why I am taking part in "Freezin' for a Reason". It doesn't matter where a kid lives or what program is their favorite - there is something for everyone at Wakeman!
