Laura Miller's Fundraising Page
UPDATED MAY 28 2010
I want to thank everyone who has donated and sponsored me in the Walk 4 Paws this year. I am extremely grateful and each one of you has given me hope for shelter animals. I am now halfway to my goal and am hoping for a miracle that I somehow reach my goal before the event next week!
In NYC almost 15,000 animals were euthanized last year. At Bobbi and the Strays we are working around the clock to save as many as possible. By sponsoring me in the Walk 4 Paws, your money will go towards saving lives.
We are currently expanding our shelter operations to larger facilities where we will be able to take in and care for more animals. We will have quarantine space for new intakes, more outdoor play areas for training and socilaization and we hope to have our own spay/neuter clinic to help reduce the amount of unwanted litters in our communities.
I have worked hands on at Bobbi and the Strays for seven years. I work with the shelter animals, I rescue them off the street and off the euth list from our city shelters. I take them to the vet, I take them to training classes and to adoption events. I have seen many "broken" animals heal and blossom into wonderful companion animals for the people in NYC. I cannot tell you how my experiences with these animals has changed my life. They give my inspiration and strength.
I started this walk last year in hopes to raise money to save more. As many as we save at Bobbi and the Strays, my heart aches for those that are left behind. It is my dream that we will be able to help EVERY animal in need in the future. I know together we can put an end to the suffering of shelter animals and give them hope for a better tomorrow.
Please sponsor me today. I am walking this year not only in honor of my three rescued dogs (Lucky, Horatio and Rockaway) but in honor of my mother who was a true animal lover and always gave me her full support in all my shelter endeavors and in honor of Bailey, my family's golden retriever that passed away this spring. I love them miss them both very much!
Thank you!
