LAURA MONROE's Fundraising Page
I recently experienced the honor of running in the 2009 Boston Marathon as a Team Hoyt charity runner. This was, coincidentally, Team Hoyt's 1000th race and the last time Dick would be running in the Boston Marathon in the 65-69 year-old age group. Team Hoyt has been providing inspiration to the world for 27 years and I am excited to be a part of their incredible legacy.
As my first fundraiser I participated in a powerlifting meet this past December. Thanks to the generous pledges of many sponsors, I was able to raise over $900 for the Hoyt Foundation through that event alone. I would like to extend a special thanks to Roxanne Fratezi for her extremely generous donation. With only a couple of weeks left to meet my $3000 fundraising goal I am more than half way there.
All donations contribute to the activities of the Hoyt Foundation Inc. These activities include: the development of a curriculum at Boston Children's Museum which teaches children what it is like to have a disability, consultation to manufacturers on the development and construction of better equipment for people with a disabilities, provision of educational material, workshops, and seminars to support the vision of mobility and life enhancement of people with disabilities and inspirational speaking engagements by Dick and Rick.
I’m asking for everyone’s help in reaching my goal for the Hoyt Foundation. Any amount you can spare brings me closer to my goal and Team Hoyt one step closer to promoting the integration, inclusion and acceptance of people with all types of disabilities. If you would like to help support this charity as a part of my run through Boston, please make a donation on this website or, If you would prefer to mail a donation, please make checks payable to: ‘The Hoyt Foundation’ and mail to my attention at 145 N. Jensen Rd. Vestal, NY 13850. Thank you for contributing to such an inspiring cause.
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page!
