Long Island Half Marathon
Hi everyone,
In May 2008, my dad and I ran the Long Island Half Marathon together. It was an ambitious goal which we proudly accomplished with each other's help. Less than a year after the race, he was diagnosed with Carcinoid Cancer, which is rare and slow-growing cancer. It has affected each of our lives in very real ways, but his positive outlook makes it easy to stay optimistic.

My dad still struggles with carcinoid, but even now he loves to go for short runs when he can. His strength inspires me everyday, and so I'd like to run this year's half marathon in his honor. With your help, my goal is to raise $500 for the Carcinoid Cancer Awareness Network by race day.
Donating through this website is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to support my fundraising efforts.
Many thanks for your support. Hopefully some year he and I will run this race together again.
Thank you again,
Laura DeFrancisci
