My name is Lauren and I'm 22yrs. old.  When I was 11 weeks old I was rushed to the ER in severe heart failure.  I was diagnosised with a Congenital Heart Defect called Tricuspid Atresia, also know as: Hypoplastic Right Heart Syndrome.  I've had two open heart surgeries, two heart caths, and so much more.  I was also born with an eye muscle problem for which I've had three eye muscle surgeres.  When I was 14 I was diagnosised with scoliosis.  4yrs. ago I was diagnosised with excercise induced SVT's (SuperVentricular Tachycardia aka very fast heart rate).  Needless to say I've been through alot.  I'm doing realitive well and living a full live.  I'm my fourth year of college and getting a Psychology degree.  I'm a huge CHD Awareness Advocate and love my CHD community that I've met since I've started awareness two years ago.  I would love to start my own CHD Organization one day. Though, I'm living a full life, I'm still confronted with health issues as my CHD is a life long Chronic Illness!

I'm fundraising for a Non-Profit Organzation called Hypoplastic Right Heart.  I think Hypoplastic Right Hearts is an amazing Organization and support group.  I'm glad I found them and would love to raise money for them so they can continue to help heart families!  I would also love to meet heart families in this group in person oneday! =D

In July 2010, Hypoplastic Right Hearts will be having its 2nd medical conference in Houston, Texas.  There are over 550 families worldwide in our group, and with it being an online support group, this is the only way for us to have the chance to get together.  There will  be a variety of medical professionals speaking to the group to help further our knowledge about our childrens hearts.
