Lauren Deeley's Fundraising Page
HELLOOOOOO Friends and Family!!!
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page!
As you have probably already gathered, On Monday, April 21st, 2008, I will be running the Boston Marathon on behalf of Good Sports, a non-profit organization that provides much needed sports and fitness equipment to disadvantaged youth in Massachusetts and Rhode Island. Please check out their website for more info!
I have made the commitment to run 26.2 miles and raise at least $5,000 for Good Sports because as an athlete myself, I understand the importance of sports and fitness in the lives of young people. In order to achieve my goal, I need your support.
All of you have supported me in my varied sporting endeavors over the years! You have tolerated my near constant "Eau d'Chlorine" Perfume during my years swimming; you dutifully listened to my stories from rowing camp; some of you even made it out for my two GLORIOUS performances on St. Mary's Lacrosse Team. Now, I ask that you will continue your boundless support by opening your hearts (and wallets!!) to help me achieve my most challenging goal to date!
I am EXTREMELY excited to be running for Good Sports! Of all the charity organizations participating in the Boston Marathon, Good Sports was the only organization I was really passionate about. One of the things that impressed me most was that for every $1 you donate to good sports, they are able to provide $2 worth of sporting equipment to kids in need!! By helping me achieve my goal of raising $5000, you will help provide $10,000 worth of sporting equipment!!! If that's not reason enough, I don't know what is!
Donating through this website is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to support my fundraising efforts.
Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!
Please don't hesitate to give me a yell if you have any questions.
Thank you again for visiting, supporting, and of course, DONATING!
See you at the finish line!
~Lauren!
