Thank you for visiting my fundraising page for my little sister
Some of you may know me and some of you may not, so let me introduce myself, My name is Lauren Ducati, Eldest sister to Kelly and 3 other lovely sisters. I set up this page to urge our friends, family and neighbors to come out and support Kelly and others diagnosed with lupus.
On Sunday, October 17th 2010, The Lupus Alliance of America will be hosting the 17th Annual Walk-Along for Lupus at Eisenhower Park in East Meadow.
This is a FUN Event! There will be breakfast, lunch, Live music, Greg-T from Z-100, the USA Skateasauras, NY Islanders give-a-ways, face painting, balloons and so much more!
A little about our Little Striker –
Kelly was diagnosed with Lupus in 2002 at the age of 5, she is a very young case. Now, at the age of 13, our little striker isn’t so little anymore. Towering over me at 5’8 she takes after both her parents in beauty, height and athleticism. Kelly is number 4 out of 5 girls (I know, bless our mother! HaHa). Kelly is first and foremost an amazing sister and friend! She loves soccer! According to Kelly-girl “SoCcEr is my life love and passion (alsoooo a religion) <333”. She is an All-Star Softball player with incredible heart. This kid loves being outside, whether it be on the soccer field, running and swimming at the beach or just being outside in the yard with her sisters and friends. Kelly is possibly the friendliest person you will ever meet and funny too! She has so many friends and people absolutely adore her. This kid knows how to make people laugh with her many jokes and just outrageous attitude.
She is sometimes a Diva, a Tomboy when she wants, but most of all she is loving, caring and all around wonderful – The bottom line…
The Lupus Alliance of America LIQ`s Affiliate`s, Walk-Along for lupus is the first and longest running, Lupus walk on Long Island, and the only Lupus Walk on Long Island that raises funds both for research as well as to help support the individual living with lupus by providing financial, supportive, and educational programs.
Donating through this website is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to support my fundraising efforts. To learn more about Lupus, the Lupus Alliance and the Walk-Along for lupus you can visit www.lupusliqueens.org.
All proceeds collected at the Walk-Along for Lupus go directly towards funding the Lupus Alliance of America Long Island/Queens Affiliates support groups, telephone counseling service, financial assistance program, kids program, educational seminars, and more, as well as to the research into the cause and cure for lupus.
So please join my family and friends on October 17th in supporting Kelly and all others who are struggling with this disease in the Walk–Along for Lupus!
