Help Equip a Zambian Health Clinic with Lab Equipment

Help Equip a Zambian Health Clinic with Lab Equipment

In some parts of Zambia, 26% of the population lives with HIV or AIDS. One of the major challenges in fighting the pandemic is the lack of facilities able to provide comprehensive services for those suffering from the disease.

In the last few years, World Vision Zambia constructed a medical clinic in the Zamtan community to provide necessary services for those suffering from HIV and AIDS. At the clinic, patients receive voluntary counseling, laboratory testing, and essential drugs. The clinic also works specifically with mothers-to-be to prevent the transmission of HIV to their newborns.

An X-ray machine is vital for delivering these comprehensive services to the children and adults in Zamtan living with HIV and AIDS.

A machine in the Zamtan clinic will allow for quick diagnosis of infections that can be deadly for people infected with HIV, but also will benefit other parts of the population who currently have to walk 8 miles to the nearest x-ray and pay a large fee to complete their physical.

Funding for this important undertaking will provide the machine itself for the clinic, installation, additional apparatus, and training for personnel. The total cost to complete the project is $350,300. A portion of this has been raised, but there is still great need.

Thank you for helping some of the world's most vulnerable children and communities by generously supporting the installation of this x-ray machine.
