Hi! =) I'm Lauren, and I am an executive member of the South Deanery Dance Marathon Committee.

This is my fundraising page for the Riley Dance Marathon that is scheduled to take place on May 5, 2013. Riley's Dance Marathon is a fundraising event to raise money and awareness for all the children under the care of Riley Hospital. Each year, millions of lives are saved as a result of this event. We dance for eight hours in honor of those who can't.

Riley Hospital holds a special place in my heart for a couple of reasons. When my mom was only seventeen, she was diagnosed with Aplastic Anemia, an extremely rare disease of the blood. Within a week of hospitalization, my mom was given her last rights and was expected to pass away at any time. However, my mom was transferred to Riley Hospital in Indianapolis where she miraculously made a turn for the better. Riley Hospital saved my mother's life, and without the amazing Riley team, I would not be here today.

Riley Hospital made another impact on my life through my late friend, Kaitlin Lynch. I met Katie in August of 2010 in my Theatre Arts class at Roncalli High School. We instantly became friends and grew close as the year went on. When I met Katie, she had already been fighting cancer for two years, receiving treatment at Riley Hospital for Children. Though we lost Katie in May of 2011, she will always hold a special place in my heart. We dance in honor of her.
