Last year me, my mom and my sisters participated in a WALK HOME for adoption.  On May 20, 2012, we are going to walk again.  We are hoping to raise money for MARE who helps find adoptive homes for kids in foster care. 

WHY I AM WALKING:  Last year I walked because I thought every kid should have a loving family to live with.  This year I am walking because there are still so many kids who dont have a home or family to grow up with.   Kids in foster care can change schools lots of times in a year.  This year I have learned first hand what it feels like to change schools, and I only moved once.  I've learned that it is so much easier to go through change with family by your side.  My mom loves helping kids get adopted and MARE helps her do this.  Please help us help MARE by donating!

WHY MY MOM IS WALKING:  This is the third year that I am taking part in this amazing cause.  Each and every year I see first hand how instrumental MARE is to my work with children in foster care.  The staff at MARE is receptive to creative ways of connecting our kids to their permanent homes.  Each year I am proud to report on the matches that we made and this year is no different.  This year, we were able to place siblings together on a number of occasions, placed a medically fragile toddler, and had success with finding placements for teens.  We could not have done it without MARE, and this our chance to say THANK YOU!
