Every year law enforcement officers throughout the country are killed in the line of duty. These fallen hero's leave behind husbands, wives, children, family and friends. They have paid the ultimate sacrific while protecting and serving the citizens of this great country.
During National Law Enforcement Officers Week in May of each year, over one thousand law enforcement officers ride their bicycles from North Hanover, NJ to the National Law Enforcement Memorial in Washington DC. This bicycle ride is to raise awareness of law enforcement officers who have paid the ultimate sacrifice and died in the line of duty. The secondary purpose is to raise funds for the National Law Enforcement Officer's Memorial and Museum in Washington DC.
The Lawrence Township Police Unity Tour Team will have the honor of riding for the fourth year for this great cause. The Tour leaves New Jersey on May 9, 2012 and arrives in Washington DC on May 12, 2012.
The Police Unity Tour will be traveling through Mercer County on May 10, 2012 along Route 130. Please come out and show your support for our team on that day.
