If 92 People Donate $25, We'll Reach Our Goal!
She was found along the side of the road near in a rural part of Virginia. We don't know how long she had been limping along, but to watch her now eat in her safe cage, you would think it would have been weeks. This brown and black long haired tabby will inhale two cans of food at once!
We don’t know much about Willa’s history, except that she had been shot with a bee-bee gun which had resulted in shattering her back left leg. A kind passerby picked her up and took her to the local animal shelter which called LDCRF, who rescued her and was able to get her the surgery she needed so that she could keep her leg.
She won over her foster on the ride to the vet, she was clearly in pain, however sat calmly the whole ride purring. Once at Blue Ridge Vets, the foster was shocked at the x-rays, and how Willa could have sat without screaming in pain! It was such a testament to the wonderful temperament of Willa.
She has now had two surgeries, is resting very well with a foster and on cage rest for two months. Her biggest issue now is that she does not like the e-collar! Willa has shown a great will to live (hence the name). One look at those big green eyes and you are hooked with Willa.
Please help us raise the money to pay for her surgery so that we can continue to save cats like Willa and give her a better life than those who shot her and left her to fend for herself.
Even if you are not able to donate, please consider forwarding this to those in your address book, and help us help animals with a great will to live!
APRIL UPDATE:
Willa has now had two surgeries. She's had both her follow up x-rays and is no longer required to maintain cage rest. This little lady is enjoying her space and taking it slow. Her shattered leg has healed. It might leave a slight limp, but it certainly is nothing that slows down this girl. When she sets her sights on a feather toy or spinning ball, watch out!
